Sharing our Innovative Technology

There's nothing more exciting than being updated on the fast-paced, ever-evolving and consistently intriguing technology that allows us to do what we do best - provide water and wastewater solutions and technologies in the municipal and industrial sectors. That's the primary reason we hold our annual Technical Seminars, and the forthcoming event, taking place at the Southern Sun OR Tambo International Airport Hotel on Tuesday, 2 September 2014, includes some exciting advancements.

Laurent Schmitt, General Manager, D&B Proposals (formerly Engineering and Technical Director) will present an overview of Veolia's Municipal technologies and recent developments. Brandy Nussbaum and Elodie Dejean of AnoxKaldnes, a Swedish-based Veolia-affiliated company, discuss their unique, patented Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (AnoxKaldnes™ MBBR) technology - a biological wastewater treatment.

Cobus Olivier, General Manager: D&B Engineering, will discuss the Bellville Membrane Bioreactor (MBR), part of the upgrade and extension of the Veolia-supplied Bellville wastewater treatment works. The Bellville plant features the largest membrane bioreactor in South Africa.

Concluding the morning session is Process Engineer Jaco Oosthuizen, whose stimulating topic focuses on the Engineering Studies Capability of Veolia Water Technologies in South Africa.

After lunch, Philip Wassik from Hydrotech; Abrie Wessels, Regional General Manager: Cape; and Laurent Schmitt bring Hydrotech Disc Filters into focus.

This will be followed by a case study analysis by Aquarius Engineering Consultant Gunter Lempert on Bio Filter Conversions used in the Walvis Bay sewage treatment works and ERWAT (East Rand Water Care Company) Heidelberg wastewater treatment plant. The last session of the day focuses on package plants.
